Grandson's discover World War II Films
Englewood, Colorado
Brothers Tony and Albert Fagler discovered an old card board drum containing pictures and canisters of 16mm film. The items found belonged to their grandfather who served as a U.S. Army combat photographer during World War II.
The footage includes Albert's wedding and as the Library of Congress put it "a treasure trove of historical video" capturing after D-DAY operations and American fighter planes in dogfights over the skies of France and Germany.
This unique story was brought to my attention by John W. Shultz and Kyle Nelson. I am grateful to them both.
